Baseline Documentation
A baseline document is a description of property features that establishes the conditions at a given time. They may include timber inventories, forest type descriptions, vegetation mapping, soil conditions, structure descriptions, GPS data, photographic documentation and many other pieces of data. Baselines are used in conjunction with conservation easements and are an important part of the agreement between a landowner and the easement holder. Baseline documents could also be used when preparing an appraisal or property sale.
